Memory: The Origins Of Alien
Memory: The Origin of Alien brings us the untold story about the production path, which this beloved genre classic from the great Ridley Scott took from the screenplay to the screen. Along with elements of Greek and Egyptian mythology, it has a gentle comedic style. Inspired by the art of Francis Bacon and dark visions from Dan O’Bannon and H.R. Giger, Alien nowadays is included in all the lists of genre favorites, and this documentary will tell you why.
Alexandre O. Philippe is a Swedish director, mostly known for his documentaries: Doc of the Dead and The People vs. George Lucas. In 2017, he screened his first postmodern documentary 78/52 at the Sundance Film Festival; the documentary analyzes the famous shower scene from Hitchcock’s Psycho. He continued down the same path by analyzing another classic in Memory: The Origin of Alien (2019).
